“何かをデザインするとき、私は単に製品をデザインするだけでなく、その製品に伴う体験をデザインしようとしている。”

Cristián Mohaded

Cristián Mohaded was born in Catamarca, Argentina, in 1980. Inspired by the cultural landscape of his homeland, he has collaborated with Argentine artisans, exploring traditional crafts, local materials, and production techniques. His work moves between design and art, combining contemporary language with a respect for material heritage.

Mohaded works internationally as an independent designer on furniture, lighting, objects, spaces, and installations, with a focus on materiality and process. In 2021, he presented Territorio Híbrido, his first solo exhibition at the Museo Nacional de Arte Decorativo, followed by Protomorfosis at the Museo Emilio Caraffa in 2023. He was awarded the Premio Konex 2012–2022 (Visual Arts) and the 2026 ELLE Decor International Designer of The Year award. His pieces are part of permanent collections at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs (2014), the Philadelphia Museum of Art (2019), the Museum of Arts and Design (2022), and the Denver Art Museum (2024).
